Club Historians are very important for compiling information for our State President’s Book! Presidents appoint the local club historian who may be a long time member, or perhaps a new member, who would appreciate learning about club history.

Club presidents are to appoint a chairman for this project. Where have we been, clubwomen? What has your club been doing all these years? Ask older members to perhaps tape record their memories. With their permission, use form in guidelines and send to GFWC for researchers to use. WE need to know how you have preserved your records and outstanding activities your group has done since organized.

Celebrate National Women’s History Month in MARCH and promote awareness of women’s history through this project. This can be done in your community and schools.

Become a “Friend” of WHRC by making a financial donation for projects, WHRC-funded internships and researcher fellowships, preserving GFWC’S archival records, acquiring books and materials for WHRC library and purchasing archival preservation supplies.

All “Friends” will receive a free subscription and their name mentioned in the quarterly publication WHRC News plus a WHRC bookmark. Those donating more than $50 will receive recognition in GFWC Clubwoman magazine.

Address all donations or questions to:
GFWC”S WHRC,1734 N Street NW,
Washington, DC 20036-2990

THEWHRC Library Cool Wish List is available from the GFWC Materials Center and on the GFWC website for those who would like to donate money for the purchase of a book for the WHRC library.

AWARDS: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each GFWC membership category for recognition of outstanding work in the WHRC project areas. This award will be presented at the end of the two-year administration in both junior and general membership participation. An archival scrapbook will be awarded annually to the state federation that donates the largest per capita amount of money to the WHRC.

CELEBRATE FEDERATION DAY! April 24th is the day to remember. Write an article for your local paper expressing importance of volunteer work in our communities and how our organization of women is the largest of its kind in the world. Have the mayor of your city declare, “Celebrate Federation Day.” Put the proclamation in your club records an/or scrapbook.

DEADLINE: Reports or articles please send to State Historian by February 1 of each year. Please identify in your mailing the name of your club, the location of the event, and dates. This is our legacy in GFWC Nebraska club work and each club is a part of our history.
