Alexander Hill Kennedy Lamb 1852-
Alexander was born on 9 November 1852, the son of Alexander Hill Lamb and Isabella Lee Laing, at Low Walker, Northumberland.
Alexander was a Marine Engineer on ships which sailed to New Zealand around 1876. He married Elizabeth Mary Torry in 1877 and had six sons and one daughter, Gwendoline,(who died at 3 months old). The sons names were Percy, Edward, Frank, Harry, Philip and Alexander Laing Lamb - b. 21.2.1887 in Newcastle, my grandfather. Alexander brought his family out to New Zealand in November 1903 on the ship "Rimutaka". He settled in Timaru, located in the Canterbury region on the east coast of New Zealand's South Island
Elizabeth Mary Torry 1853-
Elizabeth was born about 1853, the daughter of Joseph Torry and Mary Bryan, at Wragby, Lincolnshire.
