Lady Chichester was a daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Chamberlayne, of Cranbury-park, Southampton, and a sister of Mr. Tankerville Chamberlayne, of Cranbury-park, who formerly represented Southampton in the House of Commons. She married, first, in 1866 (sic), the late Sir Alexander Palmer Btuce Chichester, second and last baronet, of Arlington Court, who died in 1881, leaving a daughter, Rosalie Caroline, by the marriage; and secondly, in 1883, as his second wife, Sir Arthur Chichester, eighth baronet of Raleigh (father of the late Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Chichester), who died in 1898. She was about 64 years of age. The funeral will take place on Wednesday at Woking, where her first husband, Sir A. P. Bruce Chichester, was buried. |
