Rev. Richard Henry Wace 1804-1894 Richard was born on 23 February 1804, the son of Richard Wace and Mary Ann ?, in London. He entered Trinity College, Oxford on 2 October 1822 He received his B.A. in 1828, was ordained a Deacon at York, on 26 July 1829, and Priest on 18 July 1830. He received his M.A. in 1832, He was curate of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, then Curate of St Sepulchre's, Newgate Street, London. The cholera epidemic seriously affected his health and left him with a nervous stammer which obliged him to give up his curacy. He took in pupils at Goring, Oxfordshire, from 1843-54, and thereafter at Wadhurst, Sussex, becoming a very successful tutor for the public schools, particularly Eton. Eulielia Gray 1808-1888 Eulielia was born about 1808, the daughter of Charles Gray and Eulielia Arnett. I have identified the following children. |
