Sarah Jane Thompson 1851

Ralph was born 8 June 1808 and Christened on 4 September 1808 at Holy Trinity Church of Sunderland, the third son of Robert Thompson and Elizabeth Beaney. He was a tailor. He Married Ann Pickering on 1 March 1833 in St. Peter Parish Church Monkwearmouth. He died on 9 January 1862, at age 53.
Ann Pickering 1810-1895
Ann was born in Sunderland, 5 July 1810, the daughter of John Pickering and Ann Reay. A story that has been passed down through the family, is that Ann was a servant in the Thompson household, and young Ralph managed to make her pregnant, prompting him to do the honorable thing by marrying her, to the displeasure of the rest of the family.
