Durham., and Miss Isobel Clare Chaytor, second daughter of the late Sir Edmund Chaytor, Bt., of Witton Castle, Co. Durham, and of Mrs. Burton-Fiske, of 140 Park Lane, London, W.1.

  The marriage took place on Saturday, at the Church of St. Philip and St. James, Witten-le-Wear, Co. Durham, of Mr. HUGH MANFORD VAUX, The Durham Light Infantry, youngest son of the late Major C. Vaux and of Mrs. Vaux, of Low Startforth Hall, Barnard Castle, Co. Durham, and Miss Isobel Clare Chaytor, second daughter of the late Sir Edmund Chaytor, of Witton Castle, Co. Durham, and of Mrs. Burton-Fisk, of Denwood. Broadlands Road, Highgate.   The Bishop of Durham officiated.
  The bride, who was given away by her brother, Sir William Chaytor, wore a simple gown of heavy white crepe trimmed with lilies of the valley on the cuffs and with the train cut in one with the skirt.   Her tulle veil was held in place by a headdress of lilies-of-the-vally and she carried a bouquet of auratum lilies.   Anthea Vaux  (niece of the bridegroom)  and Gillian Parker (cousin of the bride- groom) were the child bridesmaids, and there were four grown-up bridesmaids - Miss Anne Chaytor (sister of the bride), Miss Helen Vaux (sister of the bridegroom), Miss Joyce Joly (cousin of the bride), and Miss Peggy Sherwin.   They all wore dresses of white net over silver lamé finished at the neck and sleeves with silver cord.   Their headdresses were caps of transparent silver leaves
 
and they carried bouquets of mixed white flowers.   Captain Ernest Vaux was best man to his brother, and a guard of honour was formed as the bride and bridegroom left the church.
  Afterwards a reception was held at Witton Castle, and then the bride and bridegroom left to spend their honeymoon motoring in Scotland, the bride traveling in a dress and coat of powder-blue with a hat to match and a silver-fox fur.
