MR. W. H. DUGDALE
    Mr. William Henry Dugdale, who died at Sunderland recently at the age of 69, was a prominent figure in shipbuilding and marine engineering circles throughout the country. He was a past president of the Shipbuilding Employers' Federation and of the North-East Coast Institution of Engineers and Shipbuilders, and was a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Naval Architects. In early life he held managerial positions with Messrs. Workman, Clark, and Co., Messrs. Harland and Wolff, and Palmers' Shipbuilding and Iron Company, of Jarrow-on-Tyne, and for the past 29 years he was managing director of Messrs. S. P. Austin and Son, shipbuilders, Sunderland.
