American President Lines to the Orient and Around the World
American President lines had two fine combo ships (President Hoover and President Polk) that made regular scheduled around-the-world cruises. These modified C-3 ships carried up to 96 passengers. Sailings were from San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. They operated in the 1950s and 1960s. Passenger quarters were luxurious and lounges included wood burning fireplaces.
