Bob R's Homepage
Welcome to my home page. My little piece of cyber space is devoted to my 2001 GSX-R1000 and other vehicles. I also have some information about my last bike, a 94 RF900R. Feel free to browse and use any information you may find here.
My Motorcycling Background
I'm a fan of almost anything with wheels and an engine. I have a 97 V8 Dakota and my wife drives a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer LTZ 4x4, but bikes (all bikes) are my first love. I learned to ride on my Dad's Honda CB360 in 1978. My first cycle was a used Kawasaki F8 (250 Enduro) I got in 1980. My first new bike was an 84 Suzuki GS550ES. I guess that's when I became a "Suzuki Man". Since then I've had an 89 600 Katana, a 91 750 Katana, a 94 RF900R in candy red, and my present primary ride, a 2001 GSX-R1000.
One of the best motorcycle dealerships in the country is in Oklahoma City. They may not sell Suzuki's, but they're the only guys I let work on my bike. Here's a link to their web site.
In early 2004 Maxey's got a couple limited edition Hondas in, the Dream 50 R and NSR50. Over the next few months I fell in love with the Dream 50 R (CB50R is it's designator). It's a reproduction of Hondas 1962 CR110 Grand Prix bike. In July of 2004 I decided to take it home with me. They only made about 450 of them, so it's pretty rare. Here's the picture of mine.
In July of 2004, I finally went back to work after retiring from the Air Force. Naturally I had to get a new car. Being a MOPAR man, I chose a 2004 Dodge SRT-4. This thing is one of the best bang for the buck cars of all time. It does 0-60 in the mid 5's, and the quarter mile in the low 14's. Top speed is about 152 I hear. All this for $22,400 with every option. Some guys are getting 350 HP with bolt on parts on stock internals. I'll probably start a page on it when the modification bug hit's me. A (rich) friend of mine bought a 2004 Dodge Viper. Here it is nose to nose with my SRT.
