TF20

TF20 was designed and built in 1987 as a proof of concept vehicle. It was made of garden variety wood and fiber glass. It used a Hobie 16 mast and a Hobie 18 main. I transported it on top of a van and was able to take it out solo. The ultimate goal was to break the world speed record for sailboats which Icarus had the B class record at 28 knots and Crossbow had the outright record 36 knots. TF20 had the potential to get the B class record, but 36 knots might have been a little too fast. |

| In late 1988 I took it to Lake Buchanon, Texas to participate in speed trials organized by Ned Snead. It had some problems, but it managed one official run of about 26 knots. Ned Snead was a great host and we had a great time. |
