The condition of the car when purchased was excellent, more so mechanically than cosmetically, as the previous owner was into autocrossing. He had rebuilt the motor (with a cam I found to be a bit too much for a daily driver), upgraded the brakes front and rear with those from a 320, custom exhaust (you could hear me coming from a block away), 5-speed tranny, front strut brace, battery relocation to the trunk, and sway bars.

Cosmetically he had put in the moonroof (it was not working by the time I got it), removed the side running lights front and rear, added the third back light, changed the rear bumper to the european wrap around, added the european license plate frame, added a set of recaroes, Momo steering wheel. He also added the very cool Chromadoras to the car (5 1/2 x 13).

The story goes he purchased it from an older gentleman who lived in northern california, and he was the guy who built the cool wooden console, and glove box door.

I only have a few photos from this period.
