At times you feel like you could be
hundreds of miles form the civilized world. Yet you're less than an hour's
drive from the international airport. Borne of rowdy miners with silver in
their blood, Park City's turn-of-the-century character is alive and well.
You can see it in the Victorian homes. A simple stroll down historic Main
Street is all it takes to bring back the romance of the Old West.
Once you get here, Park City's FREE bus system can get you all about town
within city limits. The buses run every 20 minutes from points all over
Park City from 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. every day of the week.
Perfection. When it comes to cruising groomed trails, carving up a
half-pipe, or cutting new powder, perfection is what everyone's after.
That's why everyone's after Park City, Utah. Park City has three fantastic
resorts--Park City Resort, Deer Valley, and The Canyons; over 7,800
rideable acres; and "The Greatest Snow On Earth." And it all revolves
around one of the most charming, historic and diverse old-west ski towns
ever to make a name for itself.
Park City's recreational opportunities are almost abundant as the snow
that falls on the slopes in winter. Of course skiing and snowboarding are
one of the main attractions, but you will also find quality opportunities
to cross-country ski, bike, hike, horseback ride, fish, boat, and enjoy
the wildlife.
With the completion of the Utah Winter Sports Park, now you too can
experience the incredible speed and g-forces of bobsled or individual
rocket sled rides on the Park's new 1,335 meter bob/luge track.
Recreational rides are available winter and summer. Or you can simply
watch the athletes train or compete at speeds up to 80 miles per hour.
If the truth were told, shopping would probably be right behind skiing and
snowboarding in terms of popular activities. You can find everything from
hardware to sportswear, handcrafted furniture to designer boutiques.
At the end of each day on the slopes or golf course there's usually an
appetite. In Park City you'll find dining as diverse as the terrain, with
a standard of quality that matches the lofty elevation. The locals know
Park City as Utah's premier dining destination. From casual burgers to
elegant gourmet, Park City restaurants are known nationally for fine
cuisine and outstanding service.
Park City's reputation as a party-town may be one of their best kept
secrets. The false belief that Utah is a dry state seems to perpetuate the
myth that we roll up the sidewalks after dark. Hardly. The sidewalks are
usually covered with revelers after dark, bouncing from restaurant to bar.
If it's night life you want, it's alive and well in Park City.
With all respect to Mother Nature, the mountains aren't the only works of
art you'll find in Park City. There is also a surprising abundance of the
handmade variety. We seem to be overflowing with art galleries, music,
dance, theater and just about every other worthwhile pursuit that you
might find enjoyable.
