HUB INSTALLER
After almost destroying the crank snout hub threads by using the "get longer bolts" method, I fabbed
a hub installer. I bought a 3' length of 7/16" SAE Fine threaded rod, B7 (high strength alloy steel) grade,
from here: www.nutty.com You'll also need a few
grade 8 nuts, a few THICK washers, Red Locktite, and anti-seize lube. I used the washers with anti-seize compound
initially but I found a roller thrust bearing that I now use -- I don't remember where I got the bearing. The washers
work fine, but the bearing works a bit better.

FILTER FOR PCV LINE
I first read about this filter on the LS1 section of CZ28, and since any oil entering the intake manifold is a potential
source of pre-ignition/detonation, I wanted to see if this was an issue with my car. I checked the PCV line and found
it lined with oil, so I fitted the following filter to the line to stop the flow of oil from the PCV system to the
intake. I don't know the number of the filter that I use, but several styles are available at Autozone. If I get
particularly ambitious I'll write the part number down, or one of you can send me the part number :-)

PARTS and PIECES
Over time I've collected information from the www.camaroz28.com website and I kept saving it in a
text file for later use. The search on z28.com doesn't always work because the post may be too old,
you don't remember the search criteria, etc. Hopefully this will be useful to other people too.
Miscellaneous Information
TWO PIECE CLUTCH DISK
Here are two pictures of my broken clutch. The first one is the as-found condition right
after I took it out of my car, and the second shows how the two pieces weren't connected --
all it took was a relatively light push to get the center section out. It's not supposed to
do that, right? ;-) The disk was replaced with an SLP stock replacement.

Pressure Plate
Here are some pictures of my car after cutting the suspension springs. I cut 1 coil off of the front springs and
1-1/2 coils from the rear springs. The cutting was done with an angle grinder and the thinnest abrasive cutting
wheels I could get at Home Depot. The front went from about a 3" gap to a 1-1/2" gap, and the rear went from
about a 3-3/4" gap to a 1-1/2" gap - this is with 16" wheels, btw. I later replaced the stock cut springs with
Eibach Pro-Kit springs.
