KEXL FM -- San Antonio's Premiere Progressive Album Rock Station...

Although short lived by some standards, KEXL (also known locally as simply "The Radio Station") was an exhilarating innovative broadcasting experience for listeners in San Antonio and surrounding area for a few excitng years in the early 1970s. Called "Underground Radio" by some, the original KEXL studios were conspicuously located in the lobby of the Menger Hotel. They were later moved to Hemisfair Plaza--right under the Tower of the Americas.
