Switchfoot was most excellent... the highlights included "New Way To Be Human" and the singing of the crowd of "I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever" in a bar. It doesn't get much better than that. Reeve Oliver and Parker Theory opened. Both are quite a bit grungier than Switchfoot and our hearing was shot before Switchfoot even came on. Lowlights included the show starting 1 hour late (not good on a work and school night) and bad lighting of everyone in the band except Jon. The spot light was heavily on Jon and it looked like he was real hot. They finally got that fixed but that's why I've only got concert shots of Jon.
In terms of Switchfoot's performance, they were smooth. It amazes me that Chad is able to hold onto his drum sticks. That dude works HARD back there. They were really having a lot of fun and this rendition of "New Way To Be Human" is the best I've heard. Jerome and Tim were SCREAMING the backing vocals.
I was in a group of 10 people (most from work)... some had never been to a concert. All were pretty impressed with Switchfoot. Many bought CDs and got them signed. My officemate even got Willis Chin's autograph.
The following pictures were taken by my officemate, the equally legendary Benjamin Q. Le.
