Doula is the Greek word for a woman helper. Today it has come to mean a woman who specializes in helping families through the childbearing year. Regionally called Grannies or Granny Women.

Women were made to have babies! Pregnancy is not an illness nor a disease or even a medical event. Labor and birth are not critical care situations, but normal bodily functions that need to be treated as such.

Granny women, it is clear, rendered a kind of care that physicians could not reproduce. It involved far more than simply dispensing a drug: It meant giving psychological support, material comfort, and empathy -- something that only another woman who had undergone the same experience could provide.

Doula Services
Providing calm, holistic, nurturing support for the pregnant woman before, during, and after labor.

Through my Doula Services, I can assist you with pain management techniques, including Reiki, enhance the communication between you and your midwife or doctor, help your partner provide effective comfort measures for you during labor, and much more! You will receive personalized care during pregnancy, throughout labor, as well as postpartum. We will maintain your tradition and strive to make your space as sacred as possible for this birth.

Full Moon Birth Services was born of the belief that birthing families deserve doula support during pregnancy, labor and postpartum. We call this the continuum of care. Birthing is addressed from all levels of being ~ physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

Full Moon Birth Services Package Includes:

Two Prenatal Visits

Prenatal Visit One: Getting to know you - relaxation to discover and align a positive belief system on a subconscious level. Exercises to explore the spiritual, physical and emotional realm.

Prenatal Visit Two: Welcoming Your Baby ~ preparing for postpartum. Includes newborn care, breastfeeding
and nursery setup. Exploring your connection with your baby.

Labor Support: doula support throughout your labor, provided at home, hospital or birthing center.

Follow-up Postpartum Care: A follow-up visit  to celebrate your baby and review the birth.
Two, three hour visits are included in the Fee

Postpartum care paid by the hour is also available for those that need it. Services vary considerably during the postpartum period, and may include assistance with new mother and newborn care, breastfeeding support, light meals for mother or siblings :
