My name is George Rogers Frakes. I have been researching the "Frakes" surname for over 10 years and this is my attempt to make it available to other researchers. I researched and published a book on the FRAKES men in the military 1750 to 1900. I have chosen five data bases to enter information that I hope will be helpful to other Frakes researchers. Every Frakes name has an assigned number which will apply throughout this data. That same number will reflect information about that person and will assist me in any inquiries about my information. This is a works in progress and will change as I receive new information, the unverified information comes from a variety of sources. I have documentation i.e. birth, death, marriage, land and military records to support some of the data but you must verify it's accuracy. It is my hope that other researchers will provide me feedback that will enhance the accuracy of this endeavor.

Census Records. These records are alphabetical by state, alphabetical by county within the state and chronological by year. The numbers to the right of each record is the census source record. All names are Frakes except  where I have indicated otherwise. The names appear as I interpreted them, census records are often unreadable, missing information and misspelled. Where there is information that I deem important I have placed it in parenthesis ( ). I use the two letter abbreviation used by the U S Postal Service to identify state where born. If I don't have a number to a name assigned it means I don't have that person attached.  Census records before 1850 listed only the head of family. I have other information such as census location, parents birth place etc.but chose not to include it here, if you have a need please contact me.

Military Records  These records are primarily from the National and State Archives. The pension records often provide clues to location, births of children, marriage dates and names, and death information. The military records will include Frakes that served in the Revolutionary War, War of 1812,  State Militia, Black Hawk Wars, Oregon Rogue River Indian Wars, Civil War, Spanish American War.

Land Records        I include these records and sources primarily to assist in locating Frakes families that seemed to be always looking for more fertile ground.

Profiles                   Where I have gathered considerable data about a Frakes I  include it here.

Odds & Ends           In this file I hope to provide miscellaneous Frakes related information.
