In the name of God amen I Henry Frakes of Hardin County
and State of Kentucky being of weak
body but perfect in mind do make this my last will & testament My wish
and desire is that after my
decease that my dear wife Hanah Frakes to be my executor and after my first
debts is paid I do give to my
son Alexander Frakes after the decease of his mother But my wish is that
my dear wife shall have the ????
of the place to rase the children while she lives and I further bequeath
all my moveable property to my my
wife Hanah Frakes only my wish desire and wish is for all the garles to have
a cow and calf asson as they
are of age I now would wish to ??? my soul to God who gave it and my body
to the ground from whence it
was taken this being on the ninetenth day of October in the year of our lord
one thousand eight hundred and
one.

John was born April 11, 1811 in Nelson County Kentucky to John S and Elizabeth
Dodson FRAKES. He came to Perry County Indiana with his father about 1814
and married first to Ellen HASKELL on June 16, 1834, she was born September
28,1814 and secondly to Nancy BROWN on May 20, 1838, she was born about 1820
also in Perry County Indiana. There are two land records in Perry County
Indiana that I attribute to John Jr. His pension states that he was born
Meade Cty Kentucky. John died February 7, 1874

He was a private in Captain Samuel Lee’s Company, Seventh Regiment of the
Indiana State Militia. This company was originated in Franklin County, Indiana
and was a part of Mc Farland’s detachment. The company was enlisted
for service March 13, 1813 and discharged June 17, 1813.
