YOUR FOREHEAD AND YOU
Silly as it may seem, your forehead is one of the most important areas of skin you own. It maintains the proportions of your facial features. It keeps your hairline low and it holds your facial expressions in place. However, it is not fitted tightly to your scalp. Your skin is wrapped around your head like a sheet of rubber around a cantaloupe, with very few points of attachment. This is why you must keep your forehead healthy and strong as you grow older. Many people underestimate the significance of the forehead. It's time to straighten you up.
People are different, so foreheads will be different, too. People have foreheads of all different shapes and sizes. People with big foreheads are fortunate, because people with small foreheads have more hair to comb. People with no hair have a forehead that extends over to the back of their neck. And people with NO forehead - well, most of them are born as werewolves. You may have seen one somewhere.
I know what you're asking! "Doctor Dave, I'm confused. What can I do to protect my forehead?" Here are some rules to remember for a long-lasting forehead:
- Wash your forehead at least 10 times daily. It must always be clean.
- Wear a hat in extreme weather conditions, and wear it extremely tight.
- Treat acne immediately. Acne is the leading killer in all skin-related deaths.
- Don't spend too much time in the hot sun. Your forehead will burn right off.
- Keep all head injuries away from the forehead, preferrably below eye level.
- Never, ever apply any kind of paint, lacquer, or enamel to your forehead.

If you follow these simple rules, you and your forehead will live happily ever after. When you grow old, the skin of your forehead will lose its elasticity and it will start to sag like a prune. A forehead lift is a practical solution, but it costs money. Just think of all the dog breeds with wrinkly foreheads. They include the Bullmastiff, English Bulldog, Pug, Chinese Shar-Pei, and some Basset Hounds. Knowing this should convince you that the forehead is to be taken seriously.
Friends, I hope this article has educated you and enlightened you. If you have any questions or comments regarding the safety of your forehead, don't call me. Consult your dermatologist. All I can tell you is: take care of your forehead.
