This was the first dog I did herding training with.  Unfortunately, I started with a bad trainer whose instruction put a lot of bad habits into her.  I kept thinking the methods were wrong, but the “trainer” kept telling me that herding was nothing like obedience and I shouldn’t question the methods which essentially allowed her too much uncontrolled work.  I should have trusted my instincts;  I now know they were right.   Because of my limited time to train, I chose to focus on my other dogs that don’t have so much baggage to deal with.  Pity because she is enormously talented.   She always watches every head no matter what the size of the flock.  She covers so well and with such speed that she can work within the flight zone and still hold the stock to me.  She has tremendous endurance and a smooth flowing trot.  Many have agreed that her structure is V-ratable.   Her outrun is natural, and her balance exact.  If only I had more time …….

Xolotl is the mother of Flora and Klaatu .  She is distantly line bred on Sgr Marco Cellerland.
