Karma Triyana Dharmachakra |
KTC Wichita exists to
make the authentic Karma Kagyu lineage available to anyone who wishes
to study and practice it. To that end, we host several events to
support your practice and study of Tibetan Buddhism, to build community
among Sangha members, and to facilitate the running of the center.
Unless otherwise noted,
all events are located at
St. Stephen's Episcopal
Church, 7404 Killarney, west of Rock Rd. between Central and 13th.
For information, call 682-7632, or e-mail: KKSG_Wichita@yahoo.com.
Throughout the year, we offer classes in Buddhist studies, taught by senior members of the KTC. These classes provide a gradual, systematic approach to learning the Dharma. Classes cover Hinayana teachings and practice, Mahayana teachings and practice, Buddhist philosophy, and an introduction to Vajrayana. There are prerequisites for many of these classes.
The
Kagyu Lineage. We are currently offering a series of
classes on the Kagyu Lineage, which is the lineage studied and
practiced at KKSG Wichita. This class looks at the major figures and practices
of the Kagyu Lineage. There is no charge for these classes.
Meditation Retreats/Workshops
Our center offers opportunities to deepen your meditation experience
through short meditation retreats. Sometimes these retreats may
be
combined with instruction and discussion, particularly for new
participants. Our next retreat will be scheduled after Lama Kathy
Wesley's visit.
Other Events
Monthly Executive Committee Meeting. The KTC is run by an Executive Committee of elected officers which meets monthly. Most meetings are open to anyone who wishes to attend. The next monthly meeting is TBA.
