FINAL MOMENT

I remember the warmth.
It gave me hope
In the unforgiving abyss.
As I yield to despair,
There is no pain,
Only numbness in the cold.

I remember the light.
It gave me strength
in the desperate struggle.
But its memory fades.
A flickering reflection,
In the deepening darkness.

I remember life.
What has it given me?
Warm fragments of joy
Amid a vast darkness of sorrow?
Nay... an eternity of regret,
In this final moment of death.
