    My HO Slot Cars

Bookmark this page, and check it regularly, as I plan to update and expand with info on collecting slot cars.

Do you have something that you would like to see on this web page, or maybe some information that everyone should know, email me. I want to know.

Here is my two Tyco Babies!! They must be the most Expensive "Plastic" that I have ever purchased!!!

TycoPro COCA-COLA CHEVELLE- RARE!! cost around $875.00   Tyco-Pro Petty & Allison race set, Street valve for set with cars $3200.00+  TycoPro STP Petty #43 Road Runner - RARE!! around $900.00

In 1970, TYCO launched it's TYCOPRO line of slotcars. These cars were a huge improving over the former "S" series car in terms of chassis performance. They were generally smaller, lower & faster than the "S" cars & outperformed even Aurora's best chassis of that day. One notable shortcoming however, was the use of small foil type pickup shoes which were very difficult to adjust consistently. Choice of body styles on this line was heavily racing influenced with many sports & GT style cars in the lineup.

One of the last items produced in the TYCOPRO series was the very first NASCAR H.O. slotcar raceset. It featured Richard Petty vs. Bobby Allison. Petty car was #43 STP Plymouth Roadrunner and Allison had the #12 Coca-Cola Chevy Chevelle. These cars & set are "Very, Very" scarce today ( It came out in 1975 ) and commands a hefty price tag due to high demand / low supply as usual. It's one the most collectable TYCO items ever produced.

1973 Tyco HP2 (#8542 & #8543) 1955 Nomad & 1957 Chevy Tilthoods 1973 Tyco HP2 (#8542 & #8543)1955 Nomad & 1957 Chevy Tilthoods

This is my "CUSTOM " Working "DAYS OF THUNDER SETS" the Semi's are actually AFX Peterbilt tractors with Matchbox Die-cast Sleeper cabs cut and fitted, & the Convoy's are Die-cast Matchbox. They don't go to fast, but they handle good and look great!!

The TOMY Front & Rear Lighted Cars...

These (6) cars are the Front & Rear Lighted TOMY's. They use standard chassis' and two however, (the Kenwood & the Silk-Cut), are Extremely Rare! Once thought to be "Set Only" cars, These were actually also available as a Scarce Release "SL" (Special Lighted) series. The "SL" Series came in Pit-Cases similar to the EX Series except they were numbered SL-001 & SL-002. These (2) cars in these "SL" Pit cases are even more rare than the Set-Only versions. So much so that Most people have Never even seen the "SL" cases. These Lighted cars have slightly larger bodies to accommodate the Lighting mechanism, but are still Very Cool looking! A must for any Collection!, thanks to Jeff Vladika of AFXRacing for this info.

Tomy EX Primus Series.....

About 1990, Tomy released what some consider to be of the best-detailed HO slot cars ever produced, the EX Primus series in the US and Japan. AFX collectors often refer to these cars as the EX Series due to their Tomy catalog numbers; EX001 through EX018. These cars came attractively packaged in hard plastic cases with a pit-wall base. By the time Tomy was done, it had released 19 different cars. Two different classes of cars where produced. The first six were Group-C cars and the rest were Formula 1, all on the Super G+ chassis. At the top of the back is a vinyl decal. This decal came in two types. One had a large Shell in the middle with AFX HO scale racing on each side. The other (
Most Common) had a large AFX in the center and TOMY King of Racing Cars on the left and TOMY Feel the Heart of GP on the right. Inside the case the car was covered with a lightweight clear plastic cover. Covering the whole case was clear Plexiglas top to keep the dust out. On the underside is the Japanese paperwork. Also, on the back of the billboard, you will find the body clip on all the Indy / F1 cases, (i.e. EX-007 thru EX-018). The GTP do not have the body clips because they are being used on the body.

These are some of the most sought after Tomy cars ever produced. Several of the cars in this series command over $75.00 when available in mint condition. These cars can occasionally be found for sale at auctions such as eBay, but be prepared to pay quite a bit for examples in mint unopened boxes., thanks to Jeff Vladika of AFXRacing for this info.

Tomy Super G Plus  (SG+)+ Carded Pit lane Series.....
Somewhere between 1993 - 1995, Tomy released a Pit Lane carded series. I believe that these series are from Europe. I am still researching this info, I now have
8 of them, the Pit-stops look just like the EX Series (molded color is Gray), except the the SG+ Carded Pit-stop and Bill-board are molded in Blue. If you have any info on these cars, email. I really want to know the history of these cars.
