  Tyco Pro's History
  Tyco pro Racers (Chaparral 2G & 2D, McLaren's )

Tyco Pro's (Cobra's, Corvette, Gremlins, Dragsters)  Under Construction

In 1970, TYCO launched it's TYCOPRO line of slotcars. These cars were a huge improving over the former "S" series car in terms of chassis performance. They were generally smaller, lower & faster than the "S" cars & outperformed even Aurora's best chassis of that day. One notable shortcoming however, was the use of small foil type pickup shoes which were very difficult to adjust consistently. Choice of body styles on this line was heavily racing influenced with many sports & GT style cars in the lineup.

TycoPro COCA-COLA CHEVELLE- RARE!! cost around $875.00  Tyco-Pro Petty & Allison race set, Street valve for set with cars $3200.00+  TycoPro STP Petty Road Runner - RARE!! around $900.00

One of the last items produced in the TYCOPRO series was the very first NASCAR H.O. slotcar raceset. It featured Richard Petty vs. Bobby Allison. Petty car was #43 STP Plymouth Roadrunner and Allison had the #12 Coca-Cola Chevy Chevelle. These cars & set are "Very, Very" scarce today ( It came out in 1975 ) and commands a hefty price tag due to high demand / low supply as usual. It's one the most collectable TYCO items ever produced.

1973 Tyco HP2 (#8542 & #8543) 1955 Nomad & 1957 Chevy Tilthoods 1973 Tyco HP2 (#8542 & #8543)1955 Nomad & 1957 Chevy Tilthoods

Turbo Trains for the HO Slot Car Track
       T
yco's desperate search for something new and different, The last train set featured in the 1991 catalog is Twin Turbo Trains -#7438. Why are we talking about trains here? Well, While other TYCO Turbo Trains ran on standard railroad track, this version rides on a track that is a HO Slot car track, a closer relative to slot cars than trains.

The Turbo Trains for this set are a three-car set and are decorated for Santa Fe and Pennsylvania. These Turbo Trains are fairly common but the Chessie System Turbo Train, hard to find and was sold individually.

Tyco Turbo Train Test Shot with\Transpanent Windows Test Shot

Plus I was able to come across a super rare find,  A test shot for the Turbo Train (One Red & One Black with transparent windows & engines (white, red, & blue. Plus the normal Black and Chrome issued)

Did you know...  The Jeff Gordon Dupont Twin Pack has two versions ? That's right, both have the stock number same number, but one is the Lumina and the other is the Monte Carlo.  The Monte Carlo has the 440x2 chassis is common and  sells around $60.00 on ebay.  Now the Lumina is Rare and sells around $150.00 - $200.00 on ebay. The Lumina  trailer is special, for it has the only HP440  chassis that Tyco developed but never got off the ground.

Tyco Earnhardt Wrangler #3 1988, in this package I have seen this car go for $175.00 on ebay.

This car is also available in a Japanese version, it is the Super Circuit X-29 and goes around the same price.
