The AFX Specialty Chassis (1973)

              A couple years after Aurora released the original AFX chassis, they also tooled up a new chassis dubbed the "Specialty" chassis. This chassis used the same basic motor as the AFX chassis but offered a much longer wheelbase and also much larger rear wheels & tires. The purpose of this was to allow a wider range of bodies to be made while still keeping scale accuracy. These chassis mounted to the bodies via a single screw & post which was not too stable causing many broken body posts.
