With "AIRDAM"

Tyco stopped placing AIRDAM’s on the Lumina and Pontiac cars so that the same bodies could fit on the TCR (Total Control Racing) chassis.  Windshields that have Lumina are painted, not decal or sticker. The Lumina windshield were only available on the cars with the Airdam. Lumina on the windshield was available only in Days of Thunder race sets for the Mello Yello #51 and Hardee’s #18.  SuperFlo #46 and City Chevrolet #46 Available in twin packs only. Exxon #51 in single pack with HP7 chassis.

This set is provided with two Nascar’s, the Mello Yello #51 and the Hardee’s #18. While there is no difference with the Hardee’s Nascar, you will find that the Mello Yello Nascar is different from the retail varsion. In these picture below, you’ll see the difference.

This car is of a big conversation. A rumor has it that this car was a Shopping Mall Promo and that there was only 500 available. The car was never packed for production with the Lumina windshield. Tyco / Mattel has no knowledge of this information
