First time visitors, begin HERE:
I was born in 1952. Since I was six years old, I've experienced irresistible urges to move my legs when I try to sit still or relax. The urges feel as though my limbs are hollow and someone is twisting a bottle brush up and down inside them. It tends to be worse in the evenings. In January of 1998, I finally learned these strange sensations had a name, "Restless Leg Syndrome". When I told my family the name I'd found for my affliction, my daughter quickly renamed it "Ridiculous Leg Syndrome".

I agreed!!! The whole thing was just nonsense...being a victim to the "creepy crawlies" every time I tried to relax or get sleep. That was when I developed my rebellious ATTITUDE!!!! I'd HAD IT!!! It was time to. . .

FIGHT BACK!!

GET EDUCATED!!

TAKE CONTROL!!


So far, I can NOT stop the RLS episodes from happening. But I CAN keep them from sending me into a full blown panic...walking the floors all night, missing out on movies and television programs, and making me a zombie. Even though we do not know the exact cause of RLS and we do not have a cure, I'm convinced we can make great progress in minimizing the frequency and reducing the severity of our RLS attacks.
