A V8 conversion ... but you'd hardly know it from the outside!

How many V8 cars have you seen that looked like they've 'been around the block' a few too-many times? Those cars that show their age with dents, dings, bad paint, and worse ... rust! Even a stock 914 is hard to find in good condition. This car will rival some of the best stock restorations in appearance but with a big difference - you'll have three times more horsepower!

We started by locating an Arizona body (build date Oct. 1975) that had minor surface rust on some panels, and none of the rust most commonly found under the battey tray and longitudinals. After bodywork to straighten panels, then followed by several coats of DuPont urethane primer-surfacer, the body was carefully sanded to achieve a smooth flat surface. Then, several coats of DuPont Chromabase and urethane ChromaClear clearcoat were applied. The clearcoat was sanded and buffed to give a mirror-like surface not found even on most luxury cars.

As you can see from the photos above, it's hard to tell that this car has a V8. The front has minimal modifications to the bumper for radiator air intake, and the rear has only a matching right-side valence cut-out for the tailpipe.
