Yulee Railroad Days is a one of a kind event reconnecting communities across North Florida along the route of Florida’s first shore-to-shore railroad the Yulee’s Cross Florida Railroad.

One hundred and fifty years ago, David Levy Yulee, Florida’s first US Congressman and US Senator began developing the Cross Florida Railroad. For eight years, hundreds of slave and free laborers laid rail from Fernandina Beach to Cedar Key. Because of their efforts, all of the towns, communities, schools, churches, and businesses along that route owe their existence to this historic railroad.

Yulee Railroad Days celebrates everyone who worked on the construction of the Cross Florida Railroad. The event began twelve years ago in Archer and has grown into the first of its kind as a “linear event,” connecting festivities all along the historic route.
