Coming LOCAL Red Hat Events
Your
Highnesses:
Again this year
the Red Hatters of Green Valley will be participating in the
White Elephant Parade on Saturday,
October 25, 2008. It is a fun experience and
you can feel like the Homecoming Queen again!!
Queen
Carroline Durbin of the new chapter, Glitzy Goddesses, will be coordinating the float
for the combined Red Hatters. Her group is planning the theme
of the float and invite you to join them. The number will be
limited and it will be "first come-first to ride". However, we
have also requested additional space besides the float if any of
your chapters would like to join the parade in your own cars, golf carts, or
whatever you can think of. We had clowns last year walking
alongside the float and have had Red Hat motorcyclists.
There are a few
additional requests we would like to ask if anyone has:
-
Peacock chair to be used on the float
-
A red SUV or pickup to pull the trailer
-
Additional riders will be asked to commit to helping decorate and un-decorate after the parade
The theme for the
parade is "Serving the Community". The parade starts at 10:00
a.m. and we need to assemble by 9:15 a.m. Sometimes it is hard
to find our entry number. It will be given to us early in
October and they designate the staging area on the morning of the
parade. They then post the #s on sawhorses at the beginning of
each block. You will need to know the number assigned and find
where we are.
We will be giving
any participants additional information as we get closer to the
date.
Please let
Queen Carroline know if you would like to participate:
