- New cell phone petition available!
- Thanks so much to everyone who helping in the planning, promoting, shopping, book delivering & performances for our Barnes & Noble bookfair!!! It was a huge success. We exceeded our fundraising goal of $2,000 and well over 200 books were donated to our school libraries. We're definitely going to make this an annual event.
- Dec. 1: Dues are due in hand. They should already be in the mail. Remember, 2 forms (1 for city & 1 for state - on our web-site). For city, we also request Scholarship & Reflections donations with dues form.
- PTA Day at the General Assembly: Jan 23rd is deadline to submit registration. Jan 31st there is an advocacy training/workshop and then the event at the General Assembly starts early the following morning, Feb 1st.
- Jan. 31: Arena Racing PTA Membership Appreciation Night is January 31st, 4 pm at Hampton Coliseum (get there at 3 pm and you can meet the drivers). You don't want to miss it! PTA members get a discount and it's a great family event. Click here for flyer with more details.
- Feb. 1: VA PTA Essay Contest for Middle & High School students. See Handbook for details.
- Feb. 5: Deadline for PTA/PTSA Volunteer of the Year nominations.
- Feb. 11, 7 pm: Reflections ceremony at Jones.
- March 25, 6:30 pm: PTA planning meetings for the New Pre-K thru 8 schools: Any parents, guardians or family members with children zoned for one of these new schools are encouraged to attend and get involved with their school's PTA! Location: Wythe Elementary for the Andrews PTA and Bethel High for the Phenix PTA.
- Bylaws: These schools have expired bylaws or expiring bylaws which need addressed during this coming school year: Forrest, Syms, Bethel, Smith, Tyler, Jones, Phoebus, Lee, Eaton, Tucker-Capps, & Wythe. Please contact our bylaws chair, Alicia Dobyns 838-9725 if you have any questions or need help with this.
- Training materials are available from the VA PTA Leadership Training Conference in Richmond in July! This link takes you to the VA PTA site that has those training materials posted. It has them organized by session number, so click here for a summary of those training courses so that you can find the document that you want.
