High voltage transformers are getting harder and harder to find these days. TV sets no longer use HV transformers. Harold W4PQW has another source! He says:

"I use a control transformer, step up/step down type 120v primary with 220/440 secondary, rated at .1kva. They can be found at bone-yards for a couple of bucks. Even purchased new, they run about $40.00. Here's what the label of one looks like

"This is my latest project .I used junk box parts. The main part is a control transformer. I rectify the 450 volts and you get about 600 VDC @ about 200 ma. My supply also has +300 V. I added several options that others might not need, like metering and a variac. This power supply also has 0-90 volts minus output for bias.

"This makes a nice power supply for Harvey Wells and all 6146 rigs and 807 rigs."
