horizontal rule

1.Remember, when tho'in fire into the wire, 3885 kc is the only 52 ohm spot in the 75 meter ham band.

2.When in doubt, use a D-104

3. When in real doubt, use get out your straight key.

4. Always calibrate wattmeters from the glow from a 150 watt light bulb hooked up inline from the transmitter output. Optional method, have your XYL or significant helper ie your Uncle Fred or Cousin Henry spy the glow at night from your neighbor's neon back porch or yard light when you modulate.

Disclaimer:
Please note that located within the Technical Page there is a highly detailed description on the calibration of 150 watt light bulbs. Please refer to such before foolin' around and trying to calibrate quality wattmeters before you have calibrated the 150 watt bulb.

4. Black smoke and out-of-this-world burnt smells travel through the shack at the same speed from Boatanchor radios.

5. Always use a one-armed straight jacket when working on boatanchors.

6. Remember Boatanchors are like old glowbottle ham radio operators. If they have no glow in them, they have no spark.

7. Boatanchor transmitter weight must equal output wattage ie 100 pound transmitter should put out 100 watts of AM.

8. Who do you know that needs 100 memory channels?

9. The only thing that has been added to receivers in the last 20 years is bells and whistles.
