His will of 1555 gives the name of his wife and two minor children.
Lay tax returns show a Richard Hardman in Neen Sollars during this period.
Lay subsidy in Shropshire shows a Richard Hardman in 1524 and 1544 in Neen Sollars. He is the only Hardman in 1524 in Shropshire. There is one other Hardman in 1544, William, whose will survives from 1555 and lists no male heirs, and whose children were minor. William is therefore probably Richard's son. Richard likely had other male children, as the Hardman name continues in the area. Since he is the only Hardman known in the area, I am assuming that he is the father for the several other Hardman's that appeared after him in the area. This is only an assumption, and could very well be false.
Mentioned in a couple area wills.
There was a William Hardman living in Lindridge, listed on the 1624 Lay Subsidy, as well as another William Hardman in the same parish, possibly taxed twice, once for property and once for land. This William was also listed in a will during the period. I don't believe that he had any children.
