Hypothesis: The very common condition of Gluten Intolerance may be a common factor in cases of AIDS:
· Weak mucus membranes associated with disposition for gluten intolerance may increase likelihood of infection with HIV.
· Perforation of the gut by the gliadin reaction and malabsorption may further increase likelihood of infection with HIV.
· Immune deficiencies common to Celiac Disease and gliadin sensitivity may contribute to susceptibility to HIV infection and to development of AIDS.
· Emotional problems associated with gluten intolerance may contribute to Sexual Risk Taking associated with the spread of HIV.
