My James and Related Families

Notes

Richard PENFOLD

Richard's last name on his marriage entry reads "Penville, commonly called Pinfold." When his first daughter, Elizabeth, was baptized in Cranbrook, her last name was written as Penvil. When the family moved to Hawkurst, the name was spelled Penfold, and stayed with that spelling. Richard also used Penfold in his will, written in 1800.
