When we bought this beautiful 1947 Ford 2 Door, (I know, it looks like a '46, but trust me) it had a few shortcomings that we just couldn't live with, the worst of which was the hood prop.
The previous owner had removed the factory hood springs because "The hood fits better at the cowl without them". That it did, but the replacement for the springs was an ugly steel prop-rod stored under the hood, heated to 500 deg., ready to sear your fingers at the first pit stop! ... We had a "Better Idea" and that led to the design of the "HoodLifter" Everyone told us "It's been tried and won't work on these Fords" .... we proved them wrong! "Henry" would have loved our "Better Idea". No more scorched fingers, messy prop-rod accidents or out of shape hoods.
& how it all began !
