Here's a photo of my 1946 Ford coupe with your hood lifter installed. The kit works GREAT, the back of the hood never fit any better than it does now not to mention how good it is to have the hood stay up without having a proprod.

1948 Mercury Coupe

possibly as long as two yrs ago I purchased your hood lifter kit for my 48 mercury. You had called several times to see if it worked. I had not installed the kit since I could not prevent the hood from buckeling, so I could not give you an answer. I sort of got discussed with the car and put it aside for almost two yrs in favor of other cars and projects. After a few months of begging I got an old time and very talented body man to come over. First he carefully looked at the vintique repo hinges that I had been working with and tossed them asside. He installed the old hinges w/o the springs and in very short order, the hood sat perfectly. We then installed your kit, measuring the extension of the assist marked the distance along the hood and drilled our hole. Bingo, everything is perfect. I could not be happier with its smooth operation and ease of lifting. Excellent product. Only wish now that we had cut the hinge per your pattern. My testimonial.

Jeff East here. I participated in the first ever "Drive In" at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pamona Ca. on Sat. Jan 21 and Won a Plaque as 1 of 3 Best cars in the Drive In from "Rod and Custom" Magazine. Here is a great shot of the "Hood Lifter" in all it's glory. These were by far one of the best investments I made for this old 48 Ford. I was just about to start using a hood prop so I could show off my chrome when I ran across your company. I will be attending the NSRA Nationals in Louisville KY again this year and I am sure I will be asked over and over again where I got these things. (I will be telling everyone!!!)
To my advantage I already had my hood off before the hoodlifter showed up so it only took about 1 hour to install your system and ready to roll down the road. Please feel free to use any of these pictures and also take note on how tight the body lines are now:-) The hood was extremely sloppy before, now it feels and acts like a late model.
