Mission:
The purpose of this organization shall be to improve teaching efficiency and to emphasize quality education for children through personal practice and negotiation; to encourage the active participation of teachers in the solution of school problems; to represent the members of the local association in negotiations with the board of education; to improve community relations and to interpret the functions, the problems, and the progress of the schools to the public; to create in the school district at large a deeper sense and knowledge of the importance of public education and its relation to the general welfare; to stimulate professional attitudes and adherence to the Code of Ethics set forth by the state and national associations; to coordinate local action with the programs of Kansas-NEA and the National Education Association; to work for professional and economic security for teachers; to foster a spirit of cooperation among all teachers, students, and communities of the district in the various departments of the school; and to sponsor educational, professional, and recreational programs for its members.
