Although you may have the fastest horse, the highest jumper, the
best conditioned endurance horse, or even the best trained horse, you
cannot
actually ride to heaven. However, you can pray anywhere, even
riding
your horse, and God will listen.
How does this get me to heaven on the back of a horse, you ask?
It's
very simple! Please read on....
1)
Our sinful nature seperates us from God.
The
Bible says that "All have sinned and have come short of the glory
of God." (Romans 3:23) No matter how many good works we have done in
our
lifetime, none of us are perfect. All of us have sinned and that
sin is what seperates us from God. The penalty for that sin is
death
--eternal seperation from God (Romans 6:23).
2)
God loved us enough to send His Son, Jesus.
Because
God loves us so much, He took it upon himself to provide the way of
salvation.
He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty of our sin and give
us
the gift of eternal life with Him in heaven. Jesus paid the price
with His death, but rose from the dead in three days. "But God
demonstrated
His own love for us in this, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for
us." (Romans 5:8)
3)
Salvation is a free gift.
Salvation
(eternal life in heaven) is a gift given to us freely by God. We could
never earn it by our own efforts. "For by grace are you saved
through
faith and this is not from yourselves. It is a Gift of God, not
by
works so that no man can boast. (Ephesians 2:8,9)
4)
This Gift is yours for the asking.
To
receive this free gift of salvation, all we need do is believe that
Jesus
died as our place to pay for our sins. "Herein is Love. Not
that we loved Him, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the
payment
for our sin." (1 John 4:10). "For God so loved the
world
that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will
not perish but have everlasting Life." (John 3:16)
You can believe God and receive His gift by simply praying and asking Him. It doesn't matter where you are, you can even be riding your horse!
Won't you trust Jesus Christ now and recieves God's gift of salvation? You don't need any fancy words or be dressed up in your Sunday best. God accepts you as you are. All you have to do is something like pray this--
"God, I know that I am a sinner and my words, thoughts and actions have seperated me from fellowship with you. But I believe that Jesus died and rose from the dead for me. I trust Him as my Savior. Thank you for saving me and giving me eternal life in You."
If you prayed this prayer, you will want to share this news with someone else and want to learn how you can grow in this New Life you now have in Jesus.
