Welcome to our website. We hope that you enjoy your stay and will visit us
often. Although we will be using
Hebrew terms throughout our site, we have provided links to provide a better understanding of what is being discussed.
The first occurrence of one of these words on a page is linked direct to
our Guide to Definitions
and Terminology page. Subsequent references are italicized
or defined within the context of the discussion.
Our web site is designed primarily for believers in
Yeshua
Ha'Mashiach. We also welcome our Jewish brothers and invite them to investigate
the claims of Yeshua as Mashiach.
Throughout the site we break with certain Jewish and Christian
traditions. We know that breaking with these traditions will cause offense
on both sides, but we encourage dialog to establish truth. These pages are
for the edification of those of us at Yavoh Ministries as well as the
reader. To that end, we have defined the Rules of Engagement
for which conclusions and statements are made. We are men and women seeking
the truth of the Word of God. We grow not by confrontation but
searching the Scriptures. If
Rabbi Sha'ul makes
a statement, he could back it up with testimony from the TaNaKh.
We have laid out our website in a (hopefully) logical manner. This layout is designed
to facilitate navigation through the site. We have also provided some help pages to
further increase the teaching design of our web site. We recommend that you visit the
Hebrew Names of Books page which contains the original Hebrew names
of the Books of both the TaNaKh and the B'rit
Chadashah writings.
For the sake of clarity, the term "Judaism" as used in these pages means the
principles and precepts set forth in the TaNaKh.
Web Site Structure
The links presented below are in a hierarchical structure. Back

Next buttons represent lateral movement within a section. Up will
return you to the section title page. Subjects related to the page you are
viewing are presented in the accompanying text or at the bottom of the

The navigation tools are provided in a hopeful attempt for all to make sense.

Within these pages you will learn what we believe to be the true pronunciation of
God's name. Traditionally the name of God, the Tetragram, is pronounced as Adonai,
the Name or
HASHEM in English versions of the Hebrew Bible and in liturgy so as not to
blaspheme. These traditions were begun by the early rabbis so the name of our God
would not be profaned. This tradition (error?) was perpetuated by the English translators
of the Hebrew scriptures by using the word "the LORD". As far as we have been
able to determine there is no commandment in the writings which forbids speaking the
God's name, just misusing it. This guard against misuse of the name turned into nonuse
and forgetting of The Name. God addressed this issue in Yirmi'yahu 23:25-27:
25I
have heard what is said by the prophets who prophesy falsely in My Name,
saying: I had a dream! I had a dream! 26How
long! Is anything in the heart of the prophets who prophesy falsehood, the
prophets of their heart's deceit, 27who
make My people forget My Name
through their dreams that they tell each other, just as their fathers forgot My
Name through [worshiping]
Ba'al. By proceeding, you assume responsibility for what
is about to be revealed to you. If you are unwilling to assume this responsibility,
EXIT NOW!
Please remember that even where no names of God appear, whatever discusses matters of
Torah is forbidden to be treated with disrespect or thrown away by a Jew. So either save
what you print or turn it over for proper disposal as required for all holy writings that
are no longer needed. An even better option would be to pass it on to a friend to read.
