B'rukhim Haba'im! הבאים ‎ברכים

Welcome to the website!

Traditionally the name of God, the Tetragram, is pronounced as Adonai, the Name or HASHEM in English versions of the Hebrew Bible and in liturgy so as not to blaspheme. These traditions were begun by the early rabbis so the name of our God would not be profaned. This tradition (error?) was perpetuated by the English translators of the Hebrew scriptures by using the word "the LORD" and has further been perpetuated in Hebrew copies of the Scriptures as HASHEM. As far as we have been able to determine there is no commandment in the writings which forbids speaking the God's name, just misusing it. This guard against misuse of the name turned into nonuse and forgetting of The Name. God addressed this issue:

Yirme’yahu 23:25-27
25I have heard what is said by the prophets who prophesy falsely in My Name, saying: I had a dream! I had a dream! 26How long! Is anything in the heart of the prophets who prophesy falsehood, the prophets of their heart's deceit, 27who make My people forget My Name through their dreams that they tell each other, just as their fathers forgot My Name through [worshiping] Ba'al.

The pronunciation of the name is present only on the Terminology and Definitions page. Elsewhere the Tetragram is presented.

You may be astonished to see that Messianic believers keep the Torah, and encourage others to be frum (pious) as well. You've probably been told that Messianics are converts to Christianity, and are apostate. Here you see that refuted! We keep the Torah, and find additional richness in it through our trust in King Messiah. Remember, Yeshua  is a Jew, and came to Jews. Indeed, if he is the Jewish Messiah, as we believe, then trusting in King Messiah is the most Jewish thing you can do!

Are we Jews for Jesus? No. Jews for Jesus do share Messiah, but then refers you to churches to further your growth in Messiah. Jews remain Jews, and keep their lifestyles and traditions, without being forced to assimilate to another culture.

Are Messianic Jews still Jews? See this quote from an Orthodox Rabbi:

"There is widespread confusion that Orthodox Jews look upon anyone who is not Orthodox as not being Jewish. Untrue! If one is born of a Jewish mother or converted according to the Shulchan Aruch, Code of Jewish Law, one is Jewish -— even if he espouses Hinduism, Atheism, Christianity or any other 'ism'."

Yes, you are still Jews. We teach and encourage all humanity to keep the Torah, and we await King Messiah, just as you do. The only difference is that we believe that Yeshua is Mashiach of Israel, as proved by prophecy.

You may not keep the Torah at this time. You too can use this web site as a resource, to learn to keep it — we welcome you! However, if you don't know Yeshua personally, and desire a personal relationship with HASHEM, please see our pages on Yeshua.

Aleychem Shalom!

If you're Messianic, and are new to the Torah movement, welcome! We encourage you to keep Torah, and to find your Jewishness realized through Torah, and Messiah. Enjoy your stay, and please feel free to use this web site as a free resource to enrich your walk with Yeshua, and re-discover the joys of your heritage.

We look forward to enriching your relationship with HASHEM.
