Many Messianic believers already know about the blessings said before eating:
Barukh ata HASHEM
, Elohaynu
melech ha-olam, Ha-motzi lechem min ha'aretz.
Blessed are you HASHEM
our
God,
King of the universe, who brings forth bread from the earth.
However, many do not know about Birkat Hamazon, the blessing said after a
meal. And that' believe it or not, is the commandment: that after you eat, you say the
blessings. Here is the traditional formula:
Blessed are you, HASHEM
our God,
King of the universe, who in His goodness, grace, loving kindness and mercy, nourishes the
whole world. He gives food to all flesh, for His loving kindness is everlasting. In His
great goodness, we have never lacked for food: may we never lack for food, for the sake of
His great name. For He nourishes all and sustains all, He does good to all, and prepares
food for all his creatures that He created. Blessed are you, HASHEM
, who provides food for all.
