Yeshua
of Nazareth

So far we've dealt with five of the most common Jewish objections to
Yeshua
of Nazareth, best
known by His Hebrew name, Yeshua the Messiah. They
were:
- Yeshua did not fulfill any of the Messianic
Prophecies (He did)
- Judaism does not believe in a Messiah dying for the
sins of the world (They do)
- Yeshua did not re-gather the lost tribes or rebuild
the Temple (That's a late objection, coming 1200 years after
Yeshua came; But Yeshua will do all this on his
return)
- Judaism does not believe animal sacrifice is the only
atonement for sins (That's not what the Rabbis say — it
does believe)
- Yesha’yahu 53 has to do with the Jewish people, not the
Messiah (That's not what the Rabbis say — They say it
has to do with Messiah)
These are the major objections to Yeshua. Think for yourself! Why not
ask Eloheim Himself who
Yeshua is? There's so much
proof that Yeshua is the Messiah, that you'll probably never read all
the pages on it (Besides, it's too much to put in one web site.).
Objection #6: The Jewish people already have Eloheim, we don't need your
Yeshua.
He's okay for Gentiles, but not for Jews.
Correction: What your really saying is, Judaism doesn't need a middleman. Judaism
has not had the animal sacrifices to remove sin since CE 70. Yeshua died
in CE 30 or so, which is about the time the Talmud reported that the Yom Kippur sacrifice
stopped being accepted by Eloheim (how did they know? A red cloth was
tied between the horns of the sacrifice. It would turn white if accepted by Eloheim.
| Shabbes 86a "How do
we know that a crimson-colored strap is tied to the head of the goad that is
sent [to
Azaz'el]? Because it is said, if your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white a show."
Rosh Hashanah 31B "For forty
years before the destruction of the Temple the thread of scarlet never turned white but it
remained red." {After the High Priest had
performed the service on the Day of Atonement. V. Yoma, 67a. This being a sign that their
sins had been forgiven.} This means that the cloth stopped turning white around the time
Yeshua
was sacrificed...curious co-incidence?). |
If there's been no atonement for sin since Yeshua's death and
resurrection, then something else must take the place of that. Sin means that there is now
a separation between you and Eloheim, and Judaism teaches that a
middleman is required (a High Priest) to make atonement for that sin (Vayikra
1:15).
Again, since there is no animal sacrifices anymore, that means that Eloheim
must have had another way for forgiveness of sin. We've already shown that there is no
atonement without shedding of blood (By both
Torah, Talmud and the Rabbis), therefore only
the sacrifice of Yeshua and his resurrection brings atonement, according
to Torah. This means the Jewish people do need Yeshua.
Objection #7: Belief in Yeshua means you're no longer Jewish.
Correction: So far we've offered a lot of proof (with more to come) that
Yeshua
is the Messiah of Israel, both Messiah son of Joseph and (returning as)
Messiah son of
David. If Yeshua is the Messiah of Israel, believing in him is the
most Jewish thing to do! Indeed, one cannot be frum (pious, observant) without believing
in him. Yeshua of Nazareth and his disciples were all Jewish, and the
majority of his followers were all Jewish for almost three hundred years. Never did
Yeshua
and his disciples renounce their Jewish ness, nor were they expected to do so. Your
Jewish ness and often your observance gains extra meaning and richness when you believe in
Yeshua
(This is why some Messianics call themselves Completed Jews).
Objection #8: If Yeshua is Messiah, why don't more Jews believe in him?
Correction: The TaNaKh
predicted that most Jews would not recognize the Messiah
when he came: He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted
with sickness; and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed
him not. It has been suggested that if Yeshua was recognized as
Messiah, he could not have been the Messiah because of this prophecy.
When many Jews study these prophecies with an open mind, they very often come to the
realization that Yeshua is the Messiah. Many Rabbis and teachers indeed
have accepted Yeshua as Messiah, and have come to know the richness of
belief in Him.
Objection #9: Jews don't believe in a Son of Eloheim.
Correction:
Mishlei 30:4
4Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the
wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends
of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son's name, if you
know? |
Again, Jews believe in the TaNaKh. The Son ship of Eloheim is difficult
to understand, but it was believed by Jews before Yeshua came. The Book
of Enoch also refers to the coming of the Son of Eloheim as
Messiah.
Enoch 104:2
2For I and
My son will be united with them
for ever in the paths of uprightness in their lives; and you shall have peace: rejoice,
you children of uprightness. Amen. |
This apocryphal book was written by Jews in pre-Maccabean times (At latest estimates),
and possibly earlier. It was accepted as canonical by the Essenes at Qumran. Nobody
questioned their Jewish ness, and they believed in the Son of Eloheim.
Objection #10: How can a virgin give birth? Correction:
Eloheim made a Blue Whale (biggest animal on earth, at 80
tons and seventy feet in length) out of thin air, and you ask how a virgin can conceive
and give birth? The same Eloheim who just spoke the Universe into
existence, and you ask how He could make a virgin conceive and give birth? Stars explode
into existence from absolute nothing, stars big enough to hold 1,000 Earths, and you ask?
Eloheim can do anything, that's how. One of the first prophecies of the
Messiah:
B’reshit 3:15
15I
will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring
and her offspring. He will pound your head, and you will bite his heel |
This passage mentions the "seed of the woman". It does not mention the
"seed of Adam" in the same verse, but rather, after telling the woman that she
will bring forth children in sorrow does it mention Adam. This shows that Messiah will not
have a human father.
Yesha’yahu 7:14
14Therefore, my Lord Himself will give you a
sign: Behold, the maiden will become pregnant and bear a son, and she will
name him Immanuel. |
The prophecy in Yesha’yahu requires a little common sense — The word
Alma we are told
means young woman, or maiden. The implication according to Torah is that this young woman
will be a virgin. This was how the seventy Rabbis who translated the Septuagint before
Yeshua
was born chose to interpret the word Alma, was Virgin. Besides, what miracle or sign would
it be if some young woman conceived and brought forth a child by normal means? Ahaz was
asked to request a miracle of Eloheim to know the prophecy was true, and
Eloheim chose this sign. The sign — Oat' in Hebrew, a visible sign or object
— is
intended to be a miracle, to prove Eloheim.
