Sh’mot 12:3-4

3Speak to the entire assembly of Israel, saying:On the tenth of this month they shall take for themselves — each man — a lamb or kid for the household. 4But if the household will be too small for a lamb or kid, then he and his neighbor who is near his house shall take according to the number of people; everyone according to what he eats shall be counted for the lamb or kid.

Eloheim, through a beautiful series of word pictures, paints for the world what will be the crowning achievement of history.

Sh’mot 12:3 shows how the lamb was brought into the house and made a part of the family for a period of  four days beginning on the 10th day of the first month. Mattit’yahu records the entering in of Yeshua into the household of Yisra'el:

Mattit'yahu 21:1-10

1And when they came near Jerusalem, and came to Beit Pag, at the Mount of Olives, then Yeshua sent two talmidim, 2and said to them, “Go to the enclosure which is before you, and right away you will find there an ass tied, and a foal by her side; loose and bring [them] to me. 3And if any man say anything to you, you will say that,  my Master has need of them, and immediately he will let them go.

4And this was to establish what was spoken by the prophet, who said,

5Say to the daughter of Zion,
Behold your King comes to you...
poor, and riding upon an ass,
even upon a foal, the offspring of an ass.
Z’kharyah 9:9

6And the talmidim went, and did as Yeshua commanded them 7and brought the ass, and the foal, and they put upon them their garments, and mounted him thereon. 8And a great crowd spread their garments in the way, and others cut down leafy branches of trees, and carpeted the way. 9And the multitude that went before him, and behind him, cried, saying:

Hosanna to the Son of David!
Blessed is he that comes in the Name of HASHEM!Mizmor 118:26
Hosanna in the highest!

10And when he had come to Jerusalem, the whole city was seething, saying,Who is this?11And the people said,This is Yeshua, the prophet from Nazeret of Galil.

Sh’mot 12:4 indicates that it was intended for you invite others to come and partake of the lamb. A lamb was sufficient that you had to invite someone. Enough people were required so that none of the sacrifice was left over until morning. It was to be totally consumed.
