Sh’mot 12:6
6It shall be your for examination until the fourteenth day of this month; the entire congregation of the assembly of Israel shall slaughter it in the afternoon.

When Yeshua participated in the Pesach ceremonies with His disciples, He celebrated Israel's deliverance from Egypt. Centuries after that deliverance, He took common food – unleavened bread or matzah and festival wine – and distributing them as spiritual food, he vested these Pesach symbols with enhanced significance giving much additional cause for gratitude and thanksgiving.

Taking a look at our timeline, Yeshua ate the Pesach before the Pesach lamb was to be slain. This was necessary so the talmid'im would understand the events that were to follow. This year Yeshua was to be the fulfillment of the Pesach Festival.  This teaching session would show His Talmid'im that He was the true Pesach Lamb.

Let's take up our study on the Day of Preparation.
