The Tiki is
considered to be an ancient demi-god
of the South Pacific islands.
It is considered to be the
first representation of man,
although the carvings evolved into grotesque figurines.
Some Tikis were used as
dwelling places for ancestral spirits
or as the vehicles of gods, while others were used for sorcery.
Other meanings of the carvings
can be found at Tiki News.
Click on the coconut there and then on the tiki for more information.

Tux Fair
These tikis are well done. Look at all that intricate carving.
Tyke Fair
Sure doesn't look very friendly, does he? ... her? ... it?
Tux Fair
That's because we haven't left an
offering.
Tyke Fair
Is that really done? in this modern world?
Tux Fair
Oh yes, it's considered bad luck not to leave them an offering.
Tyke Fair
OK, I'll put in a quarter ... for me. You put in your own money.
Tux Fair
OK - tightwad !!!

Lucy
This one is cute. We ought to call him Chuckles.
Ginger
Or Bug Eyes - or Fat Cheeks.
Lucy
Teeheehee - oh Ginger, I just love your sense of humor.
Ginger
What'll we call that grouchy first tiki?
Lucy
Oh my, I don't know. He's almost scary.
Ginger
Well, he should be happy because I left him a new quarter.
Lucy
Did you leave Bug Eyes one too?
Ginger
Oh yes, he'll need lots of donations for his facelift.
Lucy
Hahahaha .... teeheehee .... Oh honey .... he sure needs one.
Ginger
Others are coming in, Lucy,
so we should move along.
Lucy
OK sweetie.
