IT'S   ABOUT   TIME

Have you thought about it? ... Have you really thought about it? ... What is life?  Mr. Webster defines it as the TIME a person or thing is alive or exists, the activities of a given TIME in a given setting.

TIME is defined as a definite unlimited duration in which things are considered as happening,  in the past, present or future . . .every moment there has ever been or ever will be for a given individual.

One's fate or destiny is not known.  How much of our own fate can we control?  It begins with our conception, our own genesis - a TIME when our being is meticulously designed and planned.  Months pass - TIME - and we are born into a living existence.

In TIME, we recognize, relate to and associate with those people and things to which we are exposed.  We begin to learn and remember.  We see, we crawl, we fall, we stand, we walk, we run.  We jabber, we talk, we sing . . . in TIME.

Memory is the ability to recall to mind facts previously learned or experienced.  I like to think of it as a personal memory box for each person's soul.  It is filled with unforgotten TIMES that have already passed.  The goal of my memory box is to fill it with as many pleasant memories as I possibly can. The unpleasant ones need to be remembered also, so they may be avoided and not happen again at another given TIME.  Pleasant memories make us smile on the inside, TIME and TIME again.

As a child we remember:

Mud puddles and

bubbles

clowns

snowmen

Barbie dolls and

Tonka trucks . . .

the trip to the zoo

feeding ducks,

runny popcicles,

runny noses,

playing Candy Land

Superman band-aids

lullabies,

nursery rhymes and

hugs.

As we continue to grow we remember:

Roller skating and skinned knees,

fishing

catching fire flies in a jar\playing hide go seek,

riding a bike for the first time without the t raining wheels,

our first broken bone,

flying kites,

losing our first tooth

hopscotch,

secrets . . . .

We remember chicken pox

caterpillars,

butterflies

hot chocolate on a cold wintry night

rain drops

snowflakes.

We remember the winning touchdown,

the grand slam home run,

thumbs up, high 5's and a pat on the back

As the memory box begins to fill and TIME passes, we mature and our decisions and thoughts become more complex and we become more independent.  We make our own choices, in TIME, and learn from our mistakes. We categorize and plan for our future.

We study, read books, write papers, take exams . . . we have our first date, our first prom, our first kiss.  We attend movies, dances, plays, concerts.  We participate in activities at school, at college, at church, in clubs and at home. We learn praise and disappointment, happiness and sadness.  We learn with the experience of TIME the difference between hopeless and enthusiastic, pleasure and hurt, laughing and crying, remembering and forgetting, right from wrong, smiling and looking away, suspiciousness and trust, love and hate . . . war and peace.  We make our choices, in TIME.

Fear is a feeling of anxiety, caused by the presence of danger, evil, dread, terror or fright. We cannot predict the unforeseen . . .or the inevitable . . . The almost traffic accident, the near drowning, the fall off a ladder, and airplane crash, a dreaded disease, an unsolved murder or kidnapping,, a divorce, the death of a relative or friend, or a horrendous terrorist attack on buildings where ordinary, every day people are trying to function and participate in TIME.

Hope is a desire accompanied by expectation.  Faith is unquestioning belief in God, religious tenets - complete trust, confidence, reliance and believing in miracles.  We as Christians, need to pray, to seek and learn, love and forgive, honor and praise  and believe in our one God who knows and understands and who can do anything . . . . any TIME.

The TIME to make TIME count is now . . . . this very minute, because our life TIME journey is very brief and we are not promised the TIME in the rest of this day.  Our lives are priceless and precious and unique  How we live, think, work, learn, love and grow is our choice.  What are we doing to contribute to the well being of ourselves and others?

We must employ the fundamentals and building blocks of great faith, appreciation, understanding, consideration, kindness, respect, thoughtfulness, patience, forgiveness and honesty - the things in our TIME that have to price tag - to the efforts of each new day.  We need to establish goals, integrity, morals, satisfaction and merit.  After all . . . . . ISN'T   IT   ABOUT   TIME  ? ? ?
