Post Navy Endeavors

After the completion of my active duty and my retirement from the Navy, I went to work for ManTech International Corporation, as a Combat Systems Engineer.  My speciality was Development Test and Evaluation (DT&E) of emerging shipboard Cryptologic and Electronic Warfare systems.

While there was a noticeable absence of sea duty in my Navy tours of duty, I certainly made up for it in the next 14 years with ManTech.  There were many weeks and months onboard ship, both in port and at sea, while working on, inter alia, the Combat Direction Finding (Combat DF) system, the Cooperative Outboard Logistics Update (COBLU), the Battle Group Passive Horizon Extension System (BGPHES), various Transportable DF systems, and the Cryptologic Systems Embedded Trainer (CSET).  Easy stuff for an old Cryppie like me.

When I looked around at the former CTs working for my company and the many other companies involved in the aforementioned projects, it was sometimes like still being on active duty.

The ships I worked on while with ManTech are contained in the list below.

It all came to an end in 1998, complete with retirement luncheon.  For the first time in more than 43 years, I was out of a job.  Thank goodness for my computer and my other interests which would help keep me busy.
