Tom's Las Vegas page

I've visited Las Vegas several times in the last few years. Here are some of the things I've found there:

Places to see:

Places to eat:

Places to stay:

Places to shop:

Entertainers:

Convenient parking:

Resources:

Here are some books I've found informative:

and some Internet resources:

For up-to-date information when you arrive, and lots of coupons, pick up the local guide magazines Showbiz Weekly and What's On.

And if you get there by 6 pm, you can pick up even more information on the way into town from the south on I-15 at the Welcome Center. It's in Primm, in a former Denny's turned Mexican restaurant, on the east side of the freeway near the outlets.

For maps, the Automobile Club publishes a Las Vegas Vicinity Guide Map, distributed freely to AAA members, and available for sale in some bookstores and map stores. They also have more detailed city maps, Las Vegas Southern Area and Las Vegas Northern Area. They might not be available at out-of-state offices, but members can get them in the Las Vegas office on West Charleston east of Valley View or the Henderson office on Sunset west of Stephanie.

If you prefer a map book, there's the Greater Las Vegas Street Guide and Directory, which also covers some of the outlying communities.
